About

Hello! My name is Roxanne and I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I’m an Interior Designer / foodie / penny pincher / crafter / entrepreneur / cat lover.

Why this blog? Well, growing up in a home of hand me downs, thrifted home goods, charity, and government funded meals has left me with a rather frugal mindset as an adult. A “life of less” has taught me many ways to penny pinch, create what I wanted instead of buy it, cook what I crave instead of dine out, bargain hunt, DIY my own home decor, and make wise choices, all while being chic and creating my own individuality.

So in turn, I’m here to share what i’ve learned over the years with you. I love to create new and interesting things and thrive on making something from nothing.

My motto: I’ve thought long and hard about what “simple living” means to me. I like to enrich my life simply, spending less money on things that could easily cost twice as much, and not be materialistic. I like to help the planet, when and where I can. I recycle, and try not to use un-nessesary amounts of packaging and (when I remember) bring my own shopping bags to stores. I use recycled items to make crafts, wrap presents, and design my house, and try to reduce my carbon footprint. I shut off the water when I brush my teeth, and only do full loads of dishes at a time. I water the plant with leftover glasses and bottles of water lying around. What to you do to live life more simply?

  1. I especially like your last paragraph – and I did start a blog – two in fact – just a few months ago! I always write letters to my children at Christmas – sometimes more often, but at least once a year. They know their letters will be in their stockings! Probably wouldn’t do anything you said not to – just a little bit inhibited! But that’s just me. Congratulations on being freshly pressed!
